MARRIAGE & RECEPTION VENUE

A Unique Venue for Weddings, and for Wedding Receptions

The Northern Pacific Railroad Depot Museum sits in the middle of downtown Historic Wallace, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and romantic vistas on every side that create a serene, picturesque setting. Wedding ceremonies may be held in the Women’s Waiting Room within the NP Depot or on the East lawn, both located in the center of Historic Wallace, Idaho.

The romance of the turret is a rail fan’s dream for an intimate and memorable wedding. The NP Depot’s brick façade, giant pine trees, and green lawn outside offer an incredible venue appropriate for weddings and receptions. Both areas create a one-of-a-kind historic backdrop for your special day and may be rented separately or together.

We have created several different wedding plans from which to choose. If you would like to rent the building and/or lawn for your event, please fill out this form. After reserving your request and no later than 14 days from booking, please visit this form to complete your payment and secure your Depot Wedding.

RAILROAD & HISTORIC RESEARCH

Researching the Past - Discovering the Northern Pacific Railroad's Impact on the Coeur d'Alene Mining District

The Northern Pacific Depot Museum contains thousands of documents, maps and images about the region and we are glad to help people looking for information.

We welcome and encourage researchers to make use of our collections. We have world-class collections of railroad objects from the region. Known as the Coeur d’Alene Mining District, our collection focuses on the Northern Pacific Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, and Milwaukee Road companies. This includes extensive photographic, film, and document archives.

The Northern Pacific Depot Museum welcomes researchers to use our collections and associated archives as a resource for teaching, research, publication, and general historical inquiries. We make every effort to accommodate research requests; however, mitigating circumstances (including but not limited to inaccessibility, fragility, and time constraints, etc.) may restrict access to some materials.

All research requests should be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance of the proposed dates for a visit that involves access to the Museum’s collections. Dates and times for research visits are at the Museum’s discretion.
